AC Milan interested in signing Chelsea outcast Christian Pulisic to replace Real Madrid-bound Brahim Diaz

Chelsea FC v Real Madrid: Quarterfinal Second Leg - UEFA Champions League

AC Milan have reportedly set their sights on signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Big things were expected of Pulisic when he joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for around £55million.

But the USA international has found life in the Premier League difficult, with just 26 goals and 21 assists in 145 appearances so far, with neither Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter able to get the best out of him.

Injuries have played their part in restricting his game time and last season he made just eight league starts.

He was however part of the side that won the Champions League and Club World Cup in 2021 and helped the west London club reach three FA Cup finals in a row.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to conduct a huge clear out of players and with the Blues overloaded with wide forwards, Pulisic is one of the names most heavily linked with a transfer.

The 24-year-old has not ruled out a potential exit, but has also stated his intention to stay and fight for his place at the club.

But with his contract up in 2024, this will be Chelsea's last chance to cash-in on the player and they may well have found a buyer with Gianluca DiMarzio, via the Daily Mail, reporting that AC Milan are interested in his services.

The Serie A giants are looking for a replacement for attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz who is returning to Real Madrid this summer following a three-year loan spell at the San Siro.

The former Manchester City youngster has had a great impact in Italy, helping Milan win the Serie A title in 2022, but reports suggest he will not be returning despite there being a buyout clause in his contract.

Milan are also working on a deal for Blues midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek who is also out of contract next summer.

The Stamford Bridge exodus has begun, with N'Golo Kante expected to follow the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema to the Saudi Pro League.
