I will intervene, not interfere - NFF president, Pinnick drops third-term ambition

President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has revealed he will not be contesting for a third term in office.

Pinnick, who is also a member of the FIFA executive council committee has been rumoured to be interested in continuing his stay in office.

The former Confederation of African Football (CAF) vice-president tenure will end next month.

Pinnick, however, said the time is right for him to step down from his position.

"There are so many Nigerians capable of being there (NFF boss). I will assist and work with anyone who wins the elections and emerge as president, "Pinnick told Arise TV on Monday.

" That I promise. I will intervene but will not interfere."

The NFF Annual General Assembly that will set the ball rolling for the Elective Congress will hold on August 18 in Lagos.

The Elective Congress is billed for September.
