Thomas Tuchel plays down Chelsea's chances of signing Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski is looking to join Barcelona this summer

Thomas Tuchel has played down Chelsea's chances of signing Robert Lewandowski but believes the Bayern Munich striker is one of the best No.9s in the world.

Chelsea could be in the market for a new forward this summer following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter.

Tuchel has already turned down the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, who is keen to leave Manchester United this summer.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski is still pushing for a move to Barcelona but Bayern are adamant that the Poland international, who scored 50 goals in all competitions last season, will not be sold.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Lewandowski if Barcelona fail to reach an agreement with Bayern but Tuchel is not confident about securing a deal for the 33-year-old.

'I don't think we have a chance for Lewandowski but if there is a chance, he is one of the best No.9s,' Tuchel told The Telegraph.

Thomas Tuchel says Raheem Sterling was Chelsea's top attacking target

'The priority is not on the No.9 position right now.

'We have our top priority [Sterling], we have got our top priority signed.
