Champions League: Why I slapped Maguire's 'big head' - Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he actually slapped Manchester United's captain, Harry Maguire's 'big head' during their goal celebration on Sunday.

The player said this while shedding the light on what he told Maguire after celebrating his [Maguire] goal against Leeds.

The Portuguese downplayed any suggestions of disharmony in the dressing room.

Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Fred and Anthony Elanga fired Ralf Rangnick's side to a 4-2 victory.

Before the game there were claims of a power struggle between Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo over the club's captaincy.

Maguire and Fernandes were all smiles at Elland Road after the England defender headed in United's opener.

"The goal of 'H' [Maguire], Paul's [Pogba] sliding behind him on his knees, I was slapping his head saying finally he scored with his big head,' Fernandes laughed as he addressed the press ahead Manchester United Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid in Spain on Wednesday."

Maguire is nicknamed 'Slabhead' by Manchester United fans.
