Cristiano Ronaldo shunned as Lionel Messi makes list of top achievers in Europe

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been overlooked from the list of most decorated players in European leagues.

The 35-year-old who joined the Old Lady after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia has won a total of 26 titles so far in his club career.

Ronaldo clinched nine titles at Manchester United before joining Real Madrid where he became triumphant 15 times in nine seasons.

He has so far won two trophies at the Allianz Stadium with the third one in view at the end of the ongoing season.

Ronaldo is the second player to have five Ballon d'Or awards - the only player to have more than him is Barcelona legend, Lionel Messi but did not make the list as reported by Daily Star.

However, the winger was shunned from the list despite spending six seasons at Old Trafford while Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, and Ryan Giggs were the legends selected from the Premier League.

Another notable name missing on the shortlist is Brazilian right-back Dani Alves who is one of the world's most decorated players with 43 honours in total.
