EPL: Arsenal players tell board who to appoint between Arteta, Ancelotti

Mikel Arteta faces a huge battle to win over the Arsenal squad, as most of the players prefer Carlo Ancelotti to be named as their new manager, the UK Mirror reports.

Arteta is the big favourite to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates, with Ancelotti set to take the Everton job.

Arsenal Managing Director, Vinai Venkatesham and contracts negotiator Huss Fahmy, were pictured leaving Arteta's house in the early hours of Monday following talks.

But the players were angling for Ancelotti, who they feel is more experienced.

Ancelotti has managed top clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain in the past and won the Champions League a few times.

Arteta has only been Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City, since he retired from playing.
