Cristiano Ronaldo believes Brazil would have won five more World Cup trophies if he was a Brazilian, Juventus star Danilo revealed.

Brazil remain the only football country to win the coveted FIFA World Cup title on five occasions: 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002.

The country's last glory at the world stage saw the renaissance of modern football which produced great names in the game including Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima and Ronaldinho.

But Ronaldo, who just helped his country seal Euro 2020 ticket, boasted the South America nation would have added more five trophies into their gallery was he born a Brazilian.

"I knew him from our time at Real Madrid and it was nice to be back with him at Juve," Danilo told Goal.com on his relationship with the Portuguese star.

"Along with his great quality, Ronaldo has this attention for detail that really explains the results he has achieved.

"He even told me that, if he had played for Brazil, we would've won another five World Cups already," 28-year-old Brazilian full-back said.

Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest players to ever play the game with the grandeur of club and country success to prove it.

The 34-year-old has won five Ballon d'Or awards among numerous mentions in his football career across four different clubs.

Internationally, he is close to breaking Ali Daei's world-record tally of 109 goals having netted four times in Lithuania and Luxembourg games to increase his international tally to 99.
