Nigeria vs South Africa: Two Super Eagles players undergo drug test after 2-1 win

Alex Iwobi and late substitute, Leon Balogun, were the two Super Eagles subjected to a random drug test, after their 2-1 defeat of South Africa on Wednesday, Sporting Life reports.

The tests are mandatory, as two other players from the defeated Bafana Bafana were also selected.

Following the completion of the game at about 11pm Egyptian time, Iwobi and Balogun were called upon and had to stay until the early hours of Thursday.

Recall that Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem, were picked by the AFCON anti-doping agency, after the 3-2 victory over Cameroon in the Round of 16.

Unlike the 2018 World Cup, the Africa Cup of Nations has not recorded any incident of positive dope test.
