Bayern Munich finally name their prize for World Cup winning defender who is wanted by Chelsea

Premier League giants Chelsea have been told to pay £30 million if they must land Germany international Mat Hummels.

The 30-year-old has been impressive for Bayern Munich since he joined them in a five year deal valued around €35 million in 2016.

He has made 62 topflight appearances for the Bavarians - scoring two goals in the process and won two Bundesliga titles in the process.

Hummels has only featured for the Allianz Arena side nine times this season as he is no longer an automatic pick with the Bundesliga giants.

And the Blues are hoping to take advantage of his limited playing time at his present club and improve their back line.

SunSport reports that the center back is interested in a move and Stamford Bridge top brass asked Bayern for a price.

The publication further revealed that the German side have set a deadline so they have time to get a replacement before the end of the transfer window.

He was part of the Germany team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil but got bundled out at the group stage first round in Russia four years later.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has told Sporting Director Marina Granovskaia that a centre-back is his number one priority.

Blues are also working on a £80-100m deal to bring playmaker Isco from Real Madrid in January, as SunSport revealed earlier this month.

And German newspaper Bild say Chelsea have agreed a £45m fee for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.
